We are now “counting the Omer,” the days from Passover to Shavuot. In case you’d like to know more about it, here are two posts from past years that should answer some of your questions, and perhaps raise more:
Why Count the Omer? Five Reasons (and counting!)
Do you count the Omer? Do you use an app or other aid to do so? Have you ever made it all the way to Shavuot without an error? What do you get out of counting the Omer?
I look forward to your replies!

Good
Thank you for the repost, iamminghk!
I do. I made it through last year with the help of a chalk calendar on my dining room wall. There were a few days I forgot to count in the evening and thus had to count without a blessing during the day, but I never missed a day altogether. I’ll call that as close to error-free as I’m likely to get. 😉
This year I’ve got my chalkboard calendar drawn once again, but I’m also playing around with some smartphone apps.
Mazal tov! Congratulations! I like the idea of a calendar on the dining room wall.I wish you a good count this year as well!
I use a little booklet by Rabbi Simon Jacobson called A Spiritual Guide to The Counting of the Omer. It contains my comments and doodles from previous years, upon which I can build, at least that’s the hope. I have never made it to Shavuot with numerous errors!! Thank you for your blog!! Mahela
I haven’t heard of that one, Mahela – thank you for mentioning it. I am familiar with another book “Omer – A counting” by Rabbi Karyn D. Kedar. (http://ccarnet.org/ccar-press/all-books/omer-counting/) Books can be a very helpful way to track the Omer.
I mean, I have never made it to Shavuot WITHOUT numerous numerous errors!! Mahela
Nor have I, Mahela! You’ve just given me an idea for a blog post.
