What are you reading this summer? Here is my current list, always subject to change when a bright and shiny object appears:
Elizabeth Zimmerman, Knitting Without Tears (rereading – a beloved favorite)
Sofie Hagen, Happy Fat
Allan Levine, Seeking the Fabled City: the Canadian Jewish Experience
Rabbi Amy Sheinerman, The Talmud of Relationships
Rachel Mankowitz, Yeshiva Girl. (Recently finished and highly recommended.)
Catherine Bell, Ritual Theory, Ritual Practice
As you see, it’s a mix. What’s on your list? Is there anything you’ve read lately that you recommend?
I plan to binge read three novels written by Israeli writer Ayelet Gundar-Goshen (translated by Sondra Silverston).
That sounds like fun!
Yes, Rabbi. I could really use some fun right about now. Thanks for your blog.
Shabbat Shalom.
Thank you so much!
Read The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kaddish.
Also The Overstory by Richard Powers.
Loved Yeshiva Girl! My current reading is “Eichmann Before Jerusalem – The Unexamined Life of a Mass Murderer”, by Prof. Bettina Stangneth (2014)
Sounds intriguing! Let us know how you liked it when you are done.
I will do. Shabbat Shalom!
