Matzah is the paradox
at the heart of Passover.
At the center of our Passover feast,
this poor bread, lechem oni, scatters crumbs everywhere.
We place it among mounds of food:
poverty in the midst of plenty.
Now who among us has seen that?
Surely God called us out of Egypt
For something better.
