Minyan

minyanWant to learn Jewish communal prayer? The Tuesday Morning Minyan meets at Temple Sinai in Oakland, CA on Tuesday mornings at 7:30am.  There the Tuesday Morning Minyan gathers for ten minutes of study and twenty minutes of prayer.  If you are not used to Jewish daily prayer, it may seem a little foreign.  That is OK – every person in that minyan (10 or more people) was born not knowing how to daven Shacharit (pray the morning prayers.) Just come in, follow along, and catch me or Rabbi Straus for a chat afterwards.  We begin promptly at 7:30am and end by 8 so that members can get to work on time.

Directions to Temple Sinai.

The minyan meets every Tuesday. Rabbi Andrew Straus and I alternate as teacher/leaders.

For MP3 recordings of several basic prayers, and for a short introduction to Jewish Prayer, you can visit the Prayer page on my Intro class site.
